St. John
St. John
St. John was a fisherman and he, with his brother James, were the first to be called by Jesus. He was a very faithful friend to Jesus and was with him when he died. St. John became the guardian of Mary, the mother of Jesus, after Jesus’ death.
St. John founded many churches in Asia Minor and wrote his Gospel, the fourth in the Bible’s New Testament, to tell about God’s love.
He was imprisoned in Rome but survived to an old age outliving all the other Apostles.
St John’s Day is 27th December.
