St. Luke

St Luke

St. Luke was a doctor and believed to have been born in Greece.  He became a disciple of St. Paul and travelled with him to Asia and Jerusalem.

When St. Paul was imprisoned in Rome, he was the only person to stay with him.

He told everyone about Jesus and wrote the Acts of the Apostles, about the early Church and St Luke’s Gospel about God’s love for poor people.  It is only in his Gospel that we hear the parables of the Good Samaritan and Lazarus.

St. Luke’s Day is 18th October.
